A heavy silence filled the room.
A few minutes later,S. Oleg went into the bedroom and returned with a suitcase.
He placed his keys on the table and, without saying a word, began packing his clothes.
Before leaving, he turned around and delivered one final threat:
“You’ll regret this.”
I slowly closed the folder and told him the truth:
“The only thing I regret is not having the courage to do this two months ago.”
The door closed behind him.
For the first time in a long time, there was peace in my apartment.
True Liberation
I served myself some stew, sat down at the table, and ate quietly.
Not because all my problems had suddenly disappeared.
But because, finally, I had stopped financially supporting someone who had never truly behaved like a husband.
That night, I understood something essential:
Setting boundaries is not selfishness. It is dignity.
A relationship cannot be built on one person’s one-sided sacrifice.
Love requires reciprocity, respect, and shared commitment—including financial responsibility.
And when those things are missing, staying silent only prolongs the suffering.
That plate of stew, eaten alone and in peace, was the taste of my freedom finally reclaimed.
