THE MILLIONAIRE HADN’T SEEN HIS EX-WIFE IN 9 YEARS… UNTIL ONE LETTER FORCED HIM TO TURN BACK.

Emily had refused the first time.

Then she had agreed to consider it only after Daniel promised that the decision would be hers.

They eventually chose a modest house with wide doorways, a sunny kitchen, and a backyard where Noah could spend time outdoors.

It wasn’t a mansion.

It wasn’t meant to impress anyone.

It was a place where their son could grow.

The old house remained, too.

Emily said she wanted Noah to remember where he had come from.

Daniel understood.

That afternoon, the three of them sat on the porch of the little house.

Noah was stronger now. He could stand with assistance and had begun taking supported steps during therapy. His doctors remained cautious, but his progress had exceeded their initial expectations.

He was also becoming a teenager who argued about homework, complained about vegetables, and demanded more time on his computer.

Daniel loved every ordinary moment.
