I posted this picture with my grandfather on Facebook. Ten minutes later, a stranger wrote to me, “Get out of that house. He’s not the man you were told it was…” I thought it was a scam until he sent me a picture from 1989, and my grandfather paled into seeing her

I knew exactly what was on that birth certificate.

“Grandpa… who is Anna’s father?

He didn’t say anything.

My phone vibrated again.

It was Susan’s last message.

Don’t ask George who Anna’s father is. Ask him why Linda’s name appears there as the mother.

I felt my hands were freezing.

I looked at my grandfather.

He dropped into the chair.

And for the first time in my life, I saw him cry.

“Emily,” he said, “your mother has hidden a lot of things from you. But this… not even she knows the whole truth.

And exactly at that moment someone knocked on the front door.

My grandfather didn’t move.

I walked to the door.

I opened it.

There were two women there.

One was Susan.

The other was the woman of the  photo.

Anna.

He looked at me for several seconds and then said,

You’re Emily, right?

I nodded.

His eyes filled with tears.

“Then I came to the right house.

And from the kitchen, my grandfather whispered a phrase that finally changed everything.

Call Linda. It is time for the two sisters to know what really happened in 1989.
