At my divorce hearing the judge ruled I’d leave with nothing. My husband leaned down and told me to see how long I’d last. Then the courtroom doors went.

Some of what he told me I accept. Some of it I do not.

I have told that man, to his face, exactly which is which, and he did not argue with one line of it.

It starts with Ilse Marrow.

They were married for forty years.

There are two sons. They are forty-one and thirty-six and they run two of the four divisions of that company and neither of them has spoken to me.

And in the April of 2009, Severin Marrow sat in his own office on the eleventh floor with eleven pages in front of him from a firm in Marren.

Telling him that he had an eight-year-old daughter, in a care placement out past Belgrave, about forty minutes from where he was sitting.

And he decided not to tell his wife.

And then he decided it again in 2010.

And in 2013, when I moved placements twice in one year and the report said exactly why.
