One day, my uncle invited me to one swimming pool. When we arrived, he came to my ear and whispered, “After the pool,s, come to my room.” When I opened her door That night, what I saw inside left me paralyzed…
I was already twenty-seven, but that night was the first time I really felt afraid of my uncle.
His name was Richard. He was my father’s older brother and, since I was a child, he had been the person everyone trusted within our family.
When I was little, I took birthday gifts, attended my school performances and always said,
“If you ever need anything, call me.”
After my father’s death, those words became even more important to me.
But over the past year, Richard had changed.
I had started asking myself strange questions.
“Did you keep any of your mother’s old things?”
O:
“Have you ever wondered why your father never wanted to talk about his youth?”
I usually laughed and changed the subject.
Until that Saturday.
Richard called me that morning.
“Emily, are you free today?”
“I think so.”
“Come with me. I booked a place outside of town. There’s a swimming pool. We can relax a little.”
I hesitated.
We’ve never been alone before.
Pero después de la muerte de mi padre, Richard había intentado muchas veces sacarme de casa porque sabía lo aislada que me había vuelto.
So I accepted.
The hotel It was about an hour from the city.
It was old, but elegant, with a large garden, an outdoor pool and long silent corridors.
At first, everything seemed normal.
We sat by the pool, had lunch and talked about work.
Then Richard suddenly remained silent.
I noticed that I was constantly looking at his watch.
“Are you waiting for someone?” I asked.
“No.”
He answered too quickly.
A few minutes later, he came closer to me. So much so that I instinctively turned my head towards him.
Then, quietly, he said,
“After the pool, come to my room.”
I was paralyzed.
