On the same day of her arrival in prison, three of the most dangerous inmates surrounded the 78-year-old woman and demanded that she turn over everything she had. After refusing, they brutally beat the old woman.
“Maybe you shouldn’t even be here,” said knife in a mocking tone. You should be sitting in a nursing home.
The old woman tried to get up.
But one of the inmates pushed her again.
This time the woman fell straight to the ground.
“Enough… please,” he whispered.
But his plea only made his aggressors laugh even more.
Knife grabbed the old woman by the clothes, pulled her up and slapped her.
“You’ll do what I say here.
The old woman started crying.
She covered her head with her arms when the women began to push her from different sides. One of them hit her several times in the back.
No one intervened.
No one dared.
But just at that moment something happened that made the entire prison yard quiet immediately.
The old woman stopped crying.
He slowly lowered his arms.
And he looked straight at Navaja.
There was no more fear in his eyes.
Knife frowned.
What are you looking at?
The old woman did not respond.
He squatted down quietly, picked up from the ground the small metal box that Navaja had just pulled away with his foot and squeezed it in his hand.
“Open it,” Navaja mocked. What do you have in there?
The old lady denied with her head.
“You shouldn’t.
What does “you shouldn’t” mean?
Knife took a step forward and tried to snatch the box from him.
But the old woman held her hand in an unexpected way.
