I simply turned around.
And walked out.
Alexander followed me down the private elevator and into the marble lobby.
But when he saw the black private vehicle waiting outside, with a chauffeur placing three large suitcases into the trunk, his confident expression finally cracked.
For the first time, uncertainty flashed across his face.
“Where are you going, Madeline?” he demanded, gripping his leather briefcase tightly.
“To the airport,” I answered without slowing down.
His eyes narrowed.
“With Olivia and Grace?”
“Yes.”
His expression changed.
“What do you mean, with the girls? Where are you taking my daughters?”
I opened the rear passenger door.
Then I turned and looked at him.
“You signed the final divorce agreements fifteen minutes ago, Alexander.”
My voice remained calm.
“You surrendered physical and legal custody in exchange for keeping the commercial real estate assets and avoiding a public court battle.”
His face stiffened.
“You wanted a clean, unrestricted life for your new son.”
