On March 1, 1994, just weeks before her nineteenth birthday, Pattie gave birth to Justin Bieber.
Her relationship with Justin’s father, Jeremy Bieber, ended while their son was still very young. Pattie raised Justin primarily as a single mother, living in modest circumstances and receiving help from her family.

Despite financial difficulties, she encouraged her son’s passion for music.
When Justin entered a local singing competition in Stratford in 2007, he finished second. Pattie uploaded footage of his performance to YouTube, initially sharing his talent with family and friends.
Those videos eventually attracted a much wider audience, helping launch the remarkable music career that followed.
But international fame brought new challenges.
As Justin grew older and faced intense public scrutiny, his relationship with Pattie became strained.
In a 2015 interview with Billboard, Justin acknowledged that they had spent time barely speaking. He explained that he had distanced himself partly because he felt ashamed of disappointing her.
