I thought we still had time…S. but time was already slipping away. He was still breathing… but I could feel him slowly leaving me.

“I’m still here,” I whispered. “I told you I wouldn’t go anywhere.”

My eyes fell back to the paper.

“For her…”

My mind raced.

There was only one person he could mean.

Me?

Or…

My hand slowly moved to my stomach.

A memory hit me all at once.

The test I took a few days ago. The result I didn’t tell him yet. The moment I decided to wait… to find the right time.

Tears filled my eyes again, but this time… they felt different.

“Daniel…” I whispered, my voice breaking. “Did you know?”

The door opened again, but this time it was the doctor.

He looked at me gently, like he had something heavy to say.

“There’s something important we need to talk about,” he said.

My heart dropped.

“Before he passed… Daniel made a request.”

I froze.

“What request…?”

The doctor hesitated for a second, then looked directly into my eyes.
