JULIAN VANCE.

I looked at the file, then my dad.

How long have you had this?

For almost six weeks.

I’m out of words.

  • Six weeks? And you didn’t tell me anything?

Dad sat down slowly.

I wanted to tell you. But I had to check a few things before I alarmed you. And your lawyer needed to know exactly what information can be used and how.

I unwrap the file.

The first page contained a list of bank transactions.

The second, copies of bills.

Third, an organizational chart with the names of four companies I didn’t recognize.

One of them was called Sterling Strategic Partners.

I’ve frozen.

  • Sterling? – Like Chloe Sterling?

Dad agreed.

I started browsing the documents faster.

At first glance, they seemed ordinary commercial expenses.
