And my father’s voice.
“Change every PIN code. Right now.”
I smiled.
That day, I thought my father was just trying to protect my money.
But now I understood that he had done something more important.
He helped me put in a limit.
A limit between the life I had built and the man who had come to believe that everything mine was due to him.
Shortly after, I received the news that certain proceedings against Julian and the persons involved in the investigated transactions had reached final judgments. The courts had established liability for proven facts and my company continued the recovery of the amounts recognized by the applicable judgments.
I didn’t celebrate.
I didn’t send any mischievous messages to anyone.
I didn’t look for photos of Julian to see how bad it was.
I closed the file, placed it in the closet and continued my day.
That night, I went out to dinner with my dad.
