A Man’s Fiancée Asked His Grandmother to Make Her a Huge Wedding Cake, Then Refused to Pay for It – So His Sister Prepared a Wedding Gift She’ll Never Forget

Ashley kept talking, oblivious.

“And honestly, everyone’s watching, the photos are going to be ruined, and I can’t believe you’re all making such a huge deal out of…”

Daniel looked at Grandma again. She sat with her hands folded tight, trying so hard to seem fine. Her chin trembled once.

He looked back at Ashley.

    Daniel looked at Grandma again.

“Enough of this,” he said.

Then he turned away from her and walked straight toward me.

My stomach dropped.

I thought, Here it comes. I’d wrecked his reception. He was going to tell me to get out.

Ashley thought the same thing. She sighed with relief.

“Thank you,” she said. “Finally. Somebody around here has some sense.”

    “Enough of this,”

Daniel stopped beside my chair and held out his hand.

    “Give me that.”

I looked down. The spoon. I’d forgotten I was still holding it.
