A Father.s. Married Off His Daughter—Then One Unexpected Event Changed Their Lives Forever

“I will not go back with you.”

Her voice did not rise.

“You may speak of debt. You may speak of water. But you will not speak of my body as though it were a seal on your paper.”

She looked directly at him.

“I am in this house. What happens inside it will not be decided in the lane.”

Malik stared at her as though a piece of furniture had learned to speak.

But Zainab did not take her words back.

He left.

The gate closed.

Yusha looked at her and simply asked, “Would you like some tea?”

She nodded.

No one called it justice.
