After my husband died, simo a nurse accidentally slipped away that a woman had visited him for weeks before his death

The first row was written with Jacob’s hand.

I immediately recognized the writing.

“Ana, before you read on,s I want you to know one thing: the woman who brought your letter was never my girlfriend.”

I looked up to the unknown.

She was already crying.

I continued.

“Her name is Mara. And it’s my sister.”

I re-read the sentence.

One time.

Twice.

– three times.

– His sister?

Mara was slowly nodding.

– Yes.

Jacob had no sister.

My voice came out almost like a shout.

He grew up in a foster home. He told me all about his childhood.

Mara wiped her cheek.

“He didn’t know I existed.

I remained still.

– Then how…

We only found a few months ago.

Mara told me that she was adopted when she was very young.

Jacob was larger and had reached another protection system.

Their files had been separated, and for years neither had known for sure what had happened to the other.

Mara had grown up, knowing only that there was once a brother.

Jacob had grown up thinking he was left alone.
